This report highlights the SACCO performance in comparison with the previous year 2024 this gives us a clear view of where the SACCO is coming from/history, where it is now/present and its lookout/future.
Membership: During the 2025 Financial year, the EXCOM had anticipated to recruit ten (10) the Secretariat managed to recruit seven (7) members into the SACCO compare to the four (4) new members that were recruited in 2024 this leaves the SACCO with 109 members. However, we lost one (1) member who withdrew due to some challenges and this greatly affect our growth in terms of numbers and capital growth as he was one of the members with high share capital in the SACCO.
Member’s Voluntary Savings: In our workplan of 2025, the EXCOM expected to grow the SACCO savings by at least 60% of 28,519,332 which would be UGX 17,111,559 direct deposits from members. During the year 2025, direct deposits from members were UGX 48,546,490. We applaud members who saved with SACCO however this figure does not indicate growth because some members saved the above minimum annual amount of UGX 600,000. Many of the us did not adhere to the AGM resolution that each member must save at least UGX 600,000 per year.
Dividends to Members: The Extra Ordinary General meeting approved the distributions of UGX 75,344,830 the 2024 surplus to members as dividends. By December 31st 2024, we had 44,051 shares that qualified for dividends amount to UGX 881,020,000. Therefore, each share was paid UGX 1,710.40 hence each member’s Account was increased by 8.552%.
Member’s Equity/Share Capital and Reverses: The SACCO’s share capital increased during the year 2025 from UGX 882,060,000 to UGX 896,760,000 in 2025 representing 1.66%. however as noted earlier, we had a member who withdrew from the SACCO taking away significate amount of money. This affected our capital growth greatly. After the advisory from UMRA the SACCO governing body, the SACCO started making reserves as required by law and this has grown over time as you can see in the table below. The SACCO also set up a loan protection fund to help cover bad loans in case it happens. This covers loans to the staff product. Read more…
